Welcome to Annisquam Arts

Developed by artists and educators Dawn Southworth and Dana Salvo, Annisquam Arts begins its 18th season offering an exciting array of workshops to inspire your child’s imagination. Conducted at the open and generous facilities and magical playground of the Plum Cove School, we are just a short walk to Plum Cove Beach, Lanes Cove, and the Annisquam River. The Photography Workshops are based out of Dawn’s Home Studio, located on Goose Cove. Please see the registration form for details.

Dawn Southworth is a well-known Boston artist recognized for mixed media works and installations. Dawn is the upper school art teacher at Glen Urquhart School, in Beverly, MA, and a former visiting faculty member at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA. She is also the co-owner of Clark Gallery in Lincoln, MA, which was awarded “Best of Boston 2011”. Her work is represented in many public and private collections including: the DeCordova Museum; the Addison Gallery of American Art; the Boston Public Library; and Fidelity Management and Research.

Simone Salvo will be instructing the Photography workshops this summer. She is currently pursuing a degree in Photography and Human Rights at Bard College. She also works as a photography instructor in the international arena; she has worked with youth in the Middle East and is currently involved in managing a program for teens in South East Asia with Rustic Pathways. In addition to instructing photography, Simone also teaches English as a Second Language and Citizenship courses at the Arab American Family Support Center in Brooklyn, NY.

Krysia Strumpf and Jennah Maybury are returning as teaching assistants and activity directors. Krysia is a senior at Rockport High School where she is the co-president of the National Arts Society, and Jennah is a sophomore at Skidmore College where she focuses on Art Education.
