Annisquam Arts begins the summer of 2008 with an exciting array of workshops to inspire the imagination.

Developed by artists and educators Dawn Southworth and Dana Salvo, Annisquam Arts enters its 14th season in our spectacular, ocean front setting at Eastern Point Day School. Overlooking Niles Beach and Gloucester Harbor, our location for Young Artist Summer Studio Morning Workshops is a short walk to the shoreline and to the historic Rocky Neck Art Colony. Photography in the Afternoon Workshops are based out of Dawn Southworth and Dana Salvo’s Home Studio, located in Annisquam, MA. NEW to the Summer of 2008, an Extended Day will be available. Dawn Southworth is a well-known Boston artist, recognized for mixed media works and installations. Dawn is the upper school art teacher at Glen Urquhart School, Beverly, MA and a visiting faculty member at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, MA.

Dana Salvo is an artist, photographer and author of Home Altars of Mexico. Dana conducts workshops in a variety of artistic disciplines at schools throughout Massachusetts, has been the recipient of two awards from the John Simon Guggenheim Foundation, and has twice received the Fulbright Scholar Award.

Dawn Southworth and Dana Salvo’'s work can be found in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum and MOMA in New York City, at Boston’'s Museum of Fine Arts, as well as numerous museums and private collections throughout the United States.

Lance Johnson will be returning this summer as our Activities Director with a variety of fun-filled adventures. When not imagining lively games for children, Lance can be found pursuing his passion on the golf course.
